Sarvottama Granthalayam
A public library initiative by Andhra Pradesh Library Association
Since its inception, the APLA has been functioning with the sole aim of taking Library movement to the public. With the changing times and circumstances, Late Sri Paturi Nagabhushanam felt the need of establishing a library for the benefit of the public in and around a central place of the city. Inspired by this idea, he founded "Sarvottama Granthalayam" named after Late Sri Gadicherala Hari Sarvottama Rao on the auspicious day Ugadi, 30th May, 1987.
Growth & Development
Since the day of its inception, the library has grown by leaps and bounds. Today it has blossomed into 12,000 sq.ft of 3 storied building of wonderful reading place that has been contributing its mite to the cause of Society. Now this Library is fully automated by NewGenLib Software and is being utilized by more than 200 readers a day.
Service Hours
It is now rated as a unique Library offering uninterrupted free service throughout the year β from 8 AM to 8 PM on week days and from 9 AM to 5 PM during Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. The Library also provides internet, Printing & Photocopying services to the readers.

Treasure house for researchers in Telugu literature
Provides more than 60 magazines with library membership of 3,120 and above
All volumes of 'Bharathi' magazine, 100 volumes of 'Collected works of Mahatma Gandhi', complimentary volumes of great personalities, and hundreds of precious research volumes published 80-90 years ago
Library Week Celebrations
Sarvottama Granthalayam has been organising Library Week Celebrations since long. On this occasion several competitions are held for school children of different levels and prizes were awarded to the winners.
