"Library at your doorstep" – Bringing books to the community

πŸ“–βœ¨
β€œThe library card is a passport to wonders and miracles, glimpses into other lives, religions, experiences, the hopes and dreams and strivings of all human beings. It is the passport that opens our eyes and hearts to the world beyond our front doors, and one of our best hopes against tyranny, xenophobia, hopelessness, despair, anarchy, and ignorance.”

APLA is a distinguished organization that has been working tirelessly to inculcate the reading habit among people, both young and old. In the twenty-first century, with the rise of distractions such as multi-channel television and smartphones with Facebook and WhatsApp, fewer people are drawn to libraries. To address this, APLA adopted the Open University concept of "Education at your doorstep" and coined its own mantra: "Library at your doorstep." If readers do not come to the library, the library will go in search of the readers. Thus, the concept of mobile libraries was born.
