A part of this library has a children section on the name of former president Abdul Kalam. It was started on 15th October, 2016, on the day of 85th birthday of Abdul Kalam. This section has around 12,000 books in English and Telugu Languages, exclusively meant for children.

In order to encourage book reading habit in children, a competition by name 'Little Reading Champ' is being conducted. In the competition the child that reads more than 100 hours in the library during summer vacation is presented an appreciation certificate alongwith a gold medal. Also, the child that reads for 60-100 hours is presented with a silver medal.

The children library has 1,200 members of boys and girls and they also get the books issued for reading at home. It is noteworthy that the committee members of library visit different schools to enlighten the children about the library facilities available for them in Sarvottama Granthalayam.
